I am the richest person in the world, and not because I have the most money. You would not know it by looking at me. In fact, I have very little money to my name. I do not own a vehicle or a home and my teeth are in need of repair. That which my richness is made of cannot be bought, borrowed, or stolen. I had it a long time ago. I thought life had taken it away from me. Truth is you already have it too. I am the richest person in the world, though not the only one, what do I have that makes me so rich?
Peace
I love that my physical body has given me access to what I have spent my whole life searching for, which was peace. I now clearly see that it is my true nature prior to the disturbance of which the mind is seen. As I lay in my bed after the 4th surgery since March of 2011, I notice the disturbance trying to enter in.
I am worthless.
I need a job.
I should be taking care of my children.
I am a mother of three going through a divorce, and it appears that I am bound to my bed at least for a while, again.
I noticed I was peaceful and only a single thought could shadow it over. Peace is who I am.
Only a single thought of I should be taking care of my self or my children disturbs the peace and sends me into hell. I took care of my "SELF." I did not believe the thought and immediately... Peace.
Now I lay in bed available to take care of my children when they come to me.
I see that not all the riches of the world will ever give me what I truly desire. I already am it. I thought peace was dependent on the amount of money I had, on my body allowing me to do the things I wanted to do, on the right husband, on the perfect career, people being nice, or the world being what I thought it should be, what a fool I was. I am the richest women in the world.
Peace is the most valuable state of being, without it everything goes to hell.
I am the Keeper of the Peace. It is the most important job I can ever have. I stand at the gate day and night making certain that the most valuable state of being does not get disturbed. Where did I find this peace? Right here.
"Peace be with you"
Meditation: What is it that I want the most? What do I want more than anything else in this world?
It might just be what these teachers were looking for too.
